Barkman Honey

Honeyed Beets (Microwave)


    2 cups



  • 2 cups sliced cooked beets
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. beet juice
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp. butter



Combine cornstarch and salt in small glass bowl.

Blend in juice.

Stir in vinegar, honey and butter.

Cook in microwave on full power for 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until thickened.

Stir occasionally during cooking time.

Place beets in 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

Pour sauce over beets.

Heat in microwave, covered, on full power for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until heated through.

Let stand 10 minutes for blending of flavors.

Reheat on full power for 1 minute.
