Honey is a sweet, thick substance made by honeybees from flower nectar. Bees add enzymes and remove water to turn the nectar into honey. It's mostly natural sugars (like fructose and glucose), along with water, minerals, vitamins and enzymes.

Our honey is gently warmed to liquefy the crystals and to delay crystallization (solidifying). This warming process is not technically considered pasteurization since honey is naturally bacteria-resistant. Gently warming the honey allows us to create an easy-to-pour product – something most consumers desire.

That's natural! Raw honey will crystallize over time — it's still perfectly safe and delicious. If you prefer its liquid form, simply place the container in warm water until the crystals dissolve.

Honey should never be given to infants under one year of age. For others, Busy Bee Raw Honey is safe unless you have a known allergy to honey or bee products. Honey does not contain wheat, crustacea, eggs, fish, peanuts, milk, tree nuts, soybeans, monosodium glutamate (MSG), sulfites, lactose or Yellow 5 (tartrazine). Our facilities do not process or store anything containing peanuts, tree nuts or gluten.

Store it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight — no need to refrigerate. Raw honey doesn't expire as long as it’s sealed properly!

You can substitute equal amounts of honey for sugar for up to one cup of sugar. Reduce liquid by 1/4 cup for every cup of honey used. In baked goods add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda for every cup of honey used and bake at a temperature 25 degrees lower than instructed. In cookie recipes that call for eggs with no additional liquid, increase the flour by two tablespoons per cup of honey or enough flour to give the desired consistency. Chill before shaping and baking.

Helpful hint: Honey can be measured easily by using the same cup used for measuring the oil in a recipe or by coating a cup or spoon with nonstick vegetable spray.
