Barkman Honey

Honey Lemon Cake


    Two 8" cakes



  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup clover honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup milk


  • One 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp. clover honey
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups powdered sugar




Cream butter and honey together.

Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.

Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with lemon juice and milk.

Bake in two greased and floured 8″ pans at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.



Blend cream cheese and honey.

Add lemon juice and sugar and beat.

Spread on cooled honey lemon cake.
