Barkman Honey

Chipotle and Agave Barbecue Sauce


    5 cups


  • 1 cup agave
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato paste
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 oz. chipotle peppers in adobo, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 2 tbsp. minced dried garlic
  • 2 tbsp. minced dried onions
  • 2 tbsp. light soy sauce
  • Fresh ground black pepper



Place all ingredients in a heavy-bottom saucepan.

While stirring frequently, bring to a simmer and allow to simmer on low for approximately 10 minutes.

Adjust consistency with water if needed.

Use for all your favorite barbecue needs.

Adjust heat level by adding more chipotle peppers.
