Barkman Honey

Shrimp with Spicy Honey Butter

Yield: 4 servings

This super simple broiled shrimp dish takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish, and features a perfectly spicy honey butter featuring Naked Wild Honey. For fast party preparation, you can make the honey butter ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re ready to cook the shrimp. Just be sure to get shrimp of a good quality and size (16-20 per pound). Serve as an appetizer or main course, but either way, be sure to have lots of crusty warm bread on hand for dipping in the leftover honey butter — it’s the best part!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 tbsp. Naked Wild Honey
  • 1 tsp. finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 pounds peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp

Directions

Turn the oven broiler to high and position the top rack as high as possible, within 6-10 inches of the heat.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the butter, honey, lemon zest, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, and mix vigorously until well combined.

Divide the shrimp between four ceramic baking dishes and top each with 1/4 of the honey butter.

Broil on high for seven minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through.

Serve immediately with warm bread.
