Place all ingredients in a non-corrosive pot.
Bring mixture to a boil and reduce to a low simmer until sauce thickens, approximately 10 minutes.
Adjust seasoning to flavor desired (a little sweeter—add more agave; a little hotter—add more hot sauce; a little smokier—add more liquid smoke).
Sauce can be used to baste everything from chicken and ribs to flank steak. Or pour over pork butt and slow-cook for pulled pork.
